soiled utensils and bowls are affected most. Arms are clear and rotating. Water is hot if opened mid-cycle

    filters are clear

I suspect its a pump not working properly or not enough water getting into it

1 I cant see how to get the panel off the bottom – it seemsto be held in place by 5 clips across the top – but I can see how to remove it (grhhhh)

it would be useful just to check the current to the solenoid valve that i assume is under there – ive even got a couple of spares from when we had a US whitewestinghouse fridge freezer !

    2. I cant see any sort of float/ ater level sensor on the inside . Shold there be one or does the ‘hydrosensor’ in the name obviate the need ?

It could be the circulation pump or the instanteous water heater need some attention? NOT a DIY job I’m afraid so expert help is needed on that (see link below) 😉

But first I suggest you remove the spray arms and check (whilst its washing) if any water is flowing through their outlet nozzles? Just let it run for a few minutes to allow time for it to drain and then refill completely, then open the door quickly to see whether water flows or doesn’t?

You should observe a healthy flow of water and even hear the water spouting like a fountain in a box. If not?….expert assistance your next move. 😉

P.S By the way, the model number you quoted is incorrect and incomplete 🙁

seems to be a fair bit of watrer around when I ry it without the arms.

model number was taken from our John Lewis receipt- cant find the plate anywhere on the door (where the book says it should be!) FWIW bought April 01

Is there a UK eqivalent of this ?

    Hi
If you look on the top of the stainless of the door for the etched in model number.

    Possible models
    1/ SGS5342GB/17
    2/ SGS5348GB/17

These two are hydrosensor models and will have a turbidity sensor built into it. If these go faulty could cause you poor wash results.

    Re: Bosch SG53452 isnt cleaning

    thanks – i was looking for ‘ a plate’

    SGS 5342GB/17
    FD 8102 360200

    and then

    10102050219444320200

Is it a turbidity sensor instead of a float?

so where is the turbidity sensor ?

    Re: Bosch SG53452 isnt cleaning

    Hi
Turbidity sensor looks at the water quality during the wash cycle and adjusts the timing accordingly. Float is a safety feature incase appliance springs an internal leak.
To be honest I think you will be looking at sourcing engineer from link below in all fairness, as you have checked as much as you can.

    Re: Bosch SG53452 isnt cleaning

I have the SGS 5342. the float is behind the left-hand side panel towards the front. The ‘tugidity’ sensor, i think, is attached to the heater and comprises an LED and optical sensor – checks for the opacity of the water, until clean. I think this is the heart of teh Hydrosensor feature.

I know all this because I have and SGS5342 in bits, trying to sort a problem where the water won’t heat!

    Hope this helps
    Paul
