ParticipantHello folks,
hoping somebody can tell me what a F-02 error means? I’ve searched this site and although I can see mention of my machine and other codes I havent seen one for F-02?
It seems to be a bit intermittent, this is the 3rd time F-02 has appeared. The last time about 2 weeks ago we just cancelled the wash and re-ran the cycle and it worked fine. Its been used daily since, (10 week baby = lots of washes) until this morning when F-02 popped up again. Cancelling it wont clear the message and no buttons appear to work.
The current state is that it is powered on with the message.
My wife cant reach the power point to pull the plug, so it will have to wait until I get home tonight.
Anyway, any thoughts on the F-02 problem?
Many thanks

F-02 relates to motor, jammed or tacho fault. not a DIY fix to be honest. you do have a five year parts g/tee, might be advisable to use it., or click on the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help. Plug out if you intend to go inside. :zap:

Thanks iadom for getting back to me.
Dont worry I’m not a tinkerer and wont meddle in things I dont know about, so I wont be going inside 😉
By the time I got home last night, my wife had managed to get machine to spin & empty (the buttons on the front eventually worked).
I’ll check out your link (I live in Watford) otherwise I’ll make use of the 5 years parts guarantee. On that subject should I only have to pay for the Hotpoint engineer callout? ie £90 or so?
Thanks again,

That is correct, all parts are free, if they have to return to complete the repair you should only have to make one payment.

Hi,
Just an update. Engineer looked at the machine yesterday and couldnt find anything wrong with the machine. No broken parts, motor fine etc. He thought that perhaps there was a wiring problem so he checked all that. It was an intermittent problem.
We’ll just keep a close watch over it.
Good news was it didnt cost a penny as the machine was bought from John Lewis & had a 2 year guarantee which runs out next month 🙂
Bye for now
