🙁 I am hoping someone can help. We have recently refitted our kitchen. When moving our Hotpoint Condenser Dryer CTD40 we didn’t check that it was empty of water and consequently it spilt from the water container into the machine. Now when we try to start any drying programme it just beeps 4 times. Someone suggested we need to reset the ‘float switch’ but I am unsure how to do this. Hotpoint helpline suggested we run a test programme but we followed their instructions (turn off machine for 4 mins then hold down on and start at same time) but nothing happened. Also when we turn the dial back to 0 it beeps once. Can anyone help???

    Re: Hotpoint CTD40 not working

Why not leave it for a few days to dry out ? 😉

Hopefully the moisture has not caused any lasting damage, it could have got on to the float switch, pump, control PCB or the motor, all are at the base of the appliance.

If that doesn’t work, I think you’ll need and engineer to be honest to rule out which one of the above is/is not at fault, check the repairs@ link below should the need arise 🙂

    Dave.
