    Can anyone tell me when is it safe to work on these machines. I have been told that they cannot be worked on until 30 mins after they have ben switched off.

    Not sure about the LG but certain Hotpoint machines with 3 phase motors have a module that contains certain components that can give you a very severe kick if you do not allow a safe period of time to elapse before putting yours hands inside.
