I suppose this just about qualifies as a technical enquiry.

Earlier today I fitted a drain extension hose to a Hotpoint DWF33. Part number 1801406, which included part number 180618 ( a small length of rubber hose and two clips) also in the kit was a hook former. The real puzzle for me is that the kit also included all these extra bits & bobs. Two large screws with plastic caps, nine coutersunk self tappers, two flat head self tappers, seven panel pin type nails and three round, thin sponge discs with self adhesive backing. I could not make out the Bosch part number as it had been obscured by the Hotpoint label stuck over it.

Can anyone please tell me without being rude, 😉 what on earth this lot is for. ❓

Sounds like part of the fitting kit for the integrated version?

there for sticking to the bottom of your tool box of-course,
with the sealant/superglue/grease ? thats burst,
the trick with this kind of job is not to let the customer see all these little extra parts, as they will want them fitted,

That sounds about right Chris, seems a bit of a waste but I will no doubt find a use for them in the fullness of time. The original waste hose had had a visit from a small furry animal, I suspected that the several holes in the outlet pipe had been responsible for spraying water into the base of the dishwasher. Unfortunately I found another fault, a small crack where the fill matrix slots into the two rubber sealing rings on the water softener unit. If my Araldite epoxy resin fix is not successful it will be a bit of a pain. 😥
