    Hi –

I recently moved into a new place with my girlfriend (in London E14). We have been here for 3 months and a couple of weeks ago the dishwasher broke. It’s a Whirlpool ADG 934, which I am pretty certain is out of warranty 😉

The cycle stopped with about half an inch of dirty water in the bottom of the machine. The indicator lights come on, but nothing else happens. I was told to check the drain hose for blockages and also to check the waste pump rotor.

Well, I disconnected everything and drained the machine (the smell of the wate was making me gag – totally gross). About 2L of water came out. Obviously I checked the consumer-accessible filters in the base of the machine, and all were reasonably clear.

Now I have a problem. I have removed 4 Torx screws and the plastic panel in the bottom of the washing area of the machine but I can’t get to the pump rotors (everything seems to be mounted on flexible bushes and covered in gunky sealant).

When I removed the base of the machine, everything inside is corroded and has obviously been soaking wet before. With a clear drain hose and empty of water, the machine still sits with the program LED on, but will not start. It is silent.

HELP! I am considering just chucking it away and getting a newer machine.
