ParticipantHotpoint BFI680 (built-in with 7 programme buttons) is flashing buttons 5 and 7 (rapid and auto duo wash). I’ve checked that it’s not blocked but it still stops working after 30 seconds or so. Can anyone advise what these codes mean? Thanks.

Hi Ade, 5+7 means that the heater is not working. Quite common on this Indesit 😉 machine.
Heater failure itself most likely cause but can be wiring or other faults. Please remove mains plug if you intend to investigate further or click the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help.
Jim.

Hi Ade. I have copied your second post on this machine into this post and will delete it.

I’ve replaced the heater, but am now getting flashing button 4 (auto eco). Hotpoint advise it means “time out on heating check thermistor positioning on dispenser”. Can anyone tell me what I do now, before I finally have to call in the engineer? Many Thanks. It helps to keep things tidy and means that if anyone replies to your original thread you will get a notification.
Neon 4 flashing may mean the base is flooded. When you replaced heater how did you refix the hoses. The original clips are almost impossible to refit, you may have a leak from your handywork.
With the machine unplugged tilt it backwards or to one side, if water runs out then you have flooded the base.
If there is no water then it may be time for the experts. 😉

Light 7 flashing is a heater timeout fault.
Very common on the Indesit made dishwashers.
If it is not the heater at fault then its very likely to be the control PCB.
Machine needs to be unplugged and then the heater needs checking with a suitable megger or multimeter first.
