We’ve noticed that a pool of water appears to keep gathering in the bottom of the fridge. The amount seems to be increasing as a couple of months ago just mopping out the water once a week was sufficient but now you need to mop it out every couple of days. The water does not smell and is not coming from any leaking bottle in the fridge.

Items keep in the fridge are nice and cold.

    Any ideas?

The drain hole is amlost certainly blocked by the sound of it, have a read of this article which explains the principal of “auto defrost” larder fridges in the first section:

    Hi Dave,

Yes you were absolutely correct on the problem. I have used a bit of old wire to clean out a drain whole in the fridge and immediately the water problem has gone away.

Whilst cleaning the hole I noticed that the rubber seal on the fridge door has come away from the bottom of the door and that repairing it doesn’t look easy. The reason for this is that part of the fridge door which the rubber seal attaches too appears to be broken.

Does anyone know where I would get a complete replacement door from? And if so approximate costs.

    thanks

    James

    Yep, right here 🙂

Total cost inc VAT and carriage £43.19

Thanks Dave. I’ve temporarily repaired the seal using some white duck tape but will be in touch to arrange a new door. I don’t think duck tape is going to work over the summer as a seal!
