ParticipantI have a indesit de73 which has been nothing but total rubbish over the last 3 years. Having had many faults which I have managed to fix it has thrown one which has stumped me totally.
The dishwasher now sits showing the drying symbol in the display. This drying symbol dissapears as soon as you put the control dial in reset but then reappears when a program is selected. Once a program is set the dishwasher just sits there doing nothing except showing the time for the program and displaying the little drying symbol. The machine shows no usual error codes i.e. A01, A02, A03.Any help will be much appreciated.

Sounds very much like the computer is corrupted from that description. And yes, the trade rather think they’re total rubbish as well.
Set a more realistic budget and replace it.

Thanks for the quick reply even though the news is a little grim.

The main PCB is p/no C00077139, about £70 from memory, plus the VAT. Bear in mind that you don’t have a confirmed diagnosis, just a “probable” one. If you want to keep this one going, you should get a professional opinion to confirm.

Thanks again for the information.
Just to give any further clues, this morning I plugged the machine back in a couple of hours of being left in the reset position it came up with the A03 fault.
I then switched from reset to a program to get the same as before. The A03 dissapeared and I was left with a flashing drying sign again. Back in reset was just as before.
Upon testing the thermistor I get a dead short of zero ohms. Testing the heater gives me about 30 ohms.
Am now gettting A03 fault every time I reset and put back into a program. Also get one beep before the machine Flags A03.
Thanks
Mark

Error code A03 relates to a Thermistor fault, so your findings so far seem to confirm that 😉
Replacement (Part No C00077163) can be obtained via emailing details to spare@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

ParticipantRe: Indesit Dishwasher DE73
We have a DE73 that we’ve owned for 3 -4 years and like the one described above, have had numerous problems and errors over the years; which I have resolved since the warrantee expiry. Like the one above, it now responds to nothing, but displays time and a flashing drying sign.
I have had no indications of an A03 error – can you tell me if replacing the thermistor was successful in getting the machine back in operation?
I am also a little puzzled by the comment about realistic budget. When we brought it, it was the second most expensive model in Comet, and Indesit as a brand were rated at the time as second only to Bosch for reliability and quality of engineering by a well known consumer advice magazine. Admittedly we’d always used Bosch before, but after a bad experience with a Bosch washing machine decided to try another brand. Obviously now I wish we hadn’t, but I do think that the inference that the purchasers of the DE73 only have themselves to blame for the machines unreliability because they should have brought something more expensive is a little unfair, and as far as I can tell, unfounded.

You have been reading the wrong magazines, second only to Bosch, your havin a larf. :rolls: That is like saying that Fiat are second only to BMW or Mercedes.
From those who know better and who see hundreds nay thousands of these machines day in , day out. http://tinyurl.com/2ssbey
