I had a quick peek on Partfinder before I went out to this machine and realised that it was not a real Hotpoint. The first one of its kind I have ever seen. Italian made, looks like a well made machine, but can find no identifying marks whatsoever. Does anyone know who made this machine ? I do hope it is not Siltal after reading the Technic thread. 😥

I managed to remove the bra wire that was causing the problem via the heater, however there is a small hole in the door seal. Has anyone changed a door gasket on this model, if so, how was it for you. 🙂

Two seperate modules and a control timer, one power module, the timer and the other module appear to come as a pair at around £165 ex vat. 😯

it is an ariston built machine , door seals ar not a bad job to do . i tend to poke a long screwdriver through interlock hol to aid refitting inner retaining spring , other than that straight forward 5 minuite job

Thanks for that, it looks to well made to be an Ariston, the really funny thing is this customer initially had an Ariston that broke down several times in first six months, so changed it for this one. 🙂

    It’s actually a Smeg manufactured model 😉

Think yourself lucky it’s not the W/D version – a total stripdown nightmare 😀

I didn’t think it was Ariston to be honest, looks much better than that.

As others have said, not an Ariston.

Went to fit door seal today. Fairly standard wire and spring fitting on outside, prised seal off to find that the inner clamp was a wire & nut and bolt type.
Had to remove front panel, when I had worked out how to access the various screws, then remove the large front concrete balance weight to allow me to refit and tighten the inner clamp. A bit awkward as the inlet hose had to be removed from soap drawer and the rubber pressure chamber and hose actually go through a hole in the concrete weight. Did initally try a Zanussi spring clamp but the lip that clamp fits into is not very deep so it was not a viable alternative.
