    Morning all,

I want to ask your opinions on running a pilot scheme with Martin Russell to test this delivery route.

If we can get this function in place (CDA logistics ooooeeer 😆 ) then we crack the barrier of vans that are too tightly packed to get a washer in, or too small. And it’s not just one man bands that don’t have tall vans!

I am seeing Martin on Wednesday and can have a chat to him about it, if you agree.

The cost is £10.00 for the appliance, the installing engineer has to be there to meet the driver, no show no drop and a £45.00 (penalty) fine payable to CDA. Hmm, John was it £45.00?
We will need to check the detail with CDA.
The driver will only drop to a kerbside, but that gives us consumer deliveries instead of engineer.

Obviously, there are pitfalls, lack of communication between driver and engineer being an expensive one, hence running a pilot and who better than Martin. Who now knows the appliance instruction book backwards, does private work only and will be able to report efficiently back to us.

    What you guys think?

    Re: Kerb side delivery

My own particular thoughts on this is that it should most definately be the exception rather than the rule, for several reasons.

    1) I can foresee problems of missed meetings between agent and CDA van driver and if we demand a missed delivery payment from our agent do we then loose the agent if he refuses to pay as a result.

    2) Will CDA be prepaired to admit when they get it wrong therefore will missed meetings be deemed to automatically be our fault. especially as CDA has come under fire from the site recently.

    3) Even if we get the appliance to the Kerbside has thre agent got the means to install the appliance on his own without damaging it and what about disposing of the old appliance ie will he assume we take the old one away.

We will need to lay down some very clear ground rules before we offer this service.

We are not offering this service Sean, my proposal is to run a pilot scheme to examine exactly what you have said……

So yes or no to the pilot.

Definately yes to a pilot or we’ll never know if its workable or not.

I’d say yes to this but we have to have a system in place and it has to be monitored, which means time.

    Hi kev,

The penalty is less than £45 it’s £30 something plus the £10 for delivery but I think the trial is a good Idea, speak to me before we go ahead so i can speak to Peter Hartly, we need to nail down a confirmed process (and cost) so we are not being charged for CDA cock ups.

I was concerned about the comments on the general forum on deliveries. If we are having delivery problems with CDA please list the specific problem and e-mail it to me, I can not go in too hard on general comments real examples are great.

Exiting CDA is possible but we would have to buy the machines and move them to say Morris Lay, this should be a last resort at this stage.

Lets stock pile the data on their erros, then I will start with a quiet chat and build from there. The home delivery may be a good oportunity for me initiate a possitive meeting with Hartly, then stress the problems with their service.
