ParticipantOur ever reliable 5012 has just thrown up its 2nd fault in 12 yrs by not emptying at all.
The main pump is working and it washes OK, does this model have a seperate drainage pump?
I have checked the filter and all the holes in the sump and there are no obvious blockages. I have also disconnected the drainage hose and tried to blow air back but it is blocked solid, it’s been over a year since the dishwasher was last moved so the hose is not likely to be kinked.
Are there any solenoids or non-return valves that could have failed?
All thoughts appreciated before I siphon the water out and pull it apart on the weekend.cheers….Valvo

There are 2 pumps, one for washing and a seperate pump for draining. The drain pump could be blocked or faulty, or the spiggot under the sink that the drain hose connects to could be blocked (less likely as you have already had this off) – power off if checking under the machine.

Success…Pulled it apart and the pump had siezed, squirted some WD40 into bearings and shaft, managed to turn the motor over by poking it with a screwdriver and it freed up.
Trouble is, it siezed up whilst we were away on a weeks holiday so I expect it to happen again….any idea how much a new (Siemens) pump is?cheers…..Valvo

Those are the only numbers….
Just an estimate of the price will do, usually the prices for parts in Oz dollars are very similar to UK Pounds after conversion.
Just trying to work out whether to fix it proper or start searching for a comparable machine….it really is a good machine except her indoors complains about the fascia being a bit tatty. Are Bosch still making good stuff?
or should I shell out for a Miele?Valvo

It’ll be a conversion kit Greg – the new magnetic pump and gubbins – 096355 me thinks.

Cheers again from sunny Sth Oz,
It’s been 16mths now since this fault occurred and the same thing has happened again….away for 1 weeks holiday and the drain pump has seized again only this time I’m inclined to shell out for a new machine rather than pay for replacement pump.
At this stage looking at a basic Bosch, Miele or Asko so the price range is approx $850 – 1500 so I would be grateful for any recommendations.cheers…Valvo
