RE: NEFF Dishwasher S4453 NOGB/07 – runs through pgm OK, heater is OK (no earth leak or open circuit) but water temperature never gets above lukewarm. Works fine otherwise. Water level OK, circulation OK.
PCB looks fine visually – no burned connection to heater relay (the usual fault). But a lukewarm wash on all settings.

We assumed it was either the logic circuit (seemed unlikely, but would need PCB replacement) or the 4-tag NTC Sensor (like a multiple thermostat) which fits into the top of the heater housing. So we got an NTC sensor (Part 165281) but found apparently that the whole plastic sump bowl has to be detached from the base of the wash cabinet to achieve enough clearance to fit it! This makes it a major stripdown, and scarcely worth the hassle.

Is there an easier way to get this sensor fitted (it looks the same as the whole Bosch D/W range from that era)? Or is the low heat due to some other cause that we don’t know about?

    Any help much appreciated. 😀

What is the wash force through spray arms like? Does the heater microswitch stay closed during recirculation?Check your socket and plugtop for any damage?

…..and accessing the NTC on the instantaneous water heater is a fairly simple task. See my post on an earlier thread…… 😉

💡 Could be low fill or boderline fill thus intermittently activating microswitch which would give you a low heat also.

Wash force seems OK. But I would have thought the program would not advance until the correct temperature was reached at the NTC sensor?? Would not a fault with the above hang the pgm on wash?

You are correct, but eventually electronics will fault to END of cycle.

Thanks Martin – seems clear enough, but forgive my hignorance, what is the water matrix?
Is there a (Bosch or Neff) service manual knocking around that might be similar to this model?
(one is mentioned on the above thread)

Water matrix is the blueish or clear coloured water tank on l/h side of appliance when steel panel removed.

    …..Oh! One further thought!

Whilst the machine was running through the programme, did the heater actually come on?

You mentioned it had good water circulation, so I would think the heater microswitch is activating but maybe the Control Module is not providing the supply to the heater from the outset?
