    I have an AEG OKO_FAVORIT 50750VI

    It is approximately 2.5 years old and was working fine.

    I put the detergent tablet in the compartment, shut the door of the compartment and at the end of the wash it was always open.

    However, the last few times the compartment door doesn’t open during wash so end up with dirty dishes and an undisolved tablet in the compartment after wash, is there a problem?
    There is just a tiny bleb on the bottom of the compartment and pushing it gently it still springs open. It doesn’t look broken or anything. I can’t fathom what operation should make this open during the wash cycle (as it should stay closed during pre-wash and then open at the beginning of the main wash)

    does anyone know what’s wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

    It will need a new Dispenser assembly fitting. Replacement part can be obtained via email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk giving full details of model number and product number of the machine.

    Thanks for the help. I’ll do that.

    Is it replaceable by an average human?

    Is there any hope of fixing the compartment myself? Does anyone know what makes it flip oben during the wash?

    It involves seperating the door basically (with the power off of course ;))

    Hi
    fitting isnt too bad.
    POWER OFF!
    Undo the screws down the right and left sides of the stainless inner door to remove the outer door panel( u might have to loosen the fascia retaining screws to make this easier). When u get the outer door panel off the dispensor is held in place with 6 screws and pushes out. Usually 2 or 4 wires connect the solenoid, depending on if it is a model with a rinse aid indicator light.

    Thanks for your help! It is pretty easy to do DIY.

    I got it all apart OK, but the part was the wrong one. (even the solenoids were different so no chance to change them over)


    The correct part should now be on its way so we’ll see on Monday if it works.

    It’s a shame you can’t just get a new solenoid as that’s the only part that can fail and be causing the problem!

    AEG changed the style of the detergent dispensors so dont worry if the new one isnt identical!
