    The catch on our extending tube is broken. Is there any alternative to a complete replacement Miele hose assembly. I’ve seen them advertised for a frankly terrifying £70-odd

    It’s a 311i. Are there any generic tubes out there of the same diameter?

    Yep, that would be the solution 😀

    Generally Miele use 35mm rods and tools, could you measure the diameter and confirm please (where the end of the hose end fits in to the extendable rod).

    It may be a case of two rods being used as an extendable one may not be available in that size but I’ll check
