I have LG 1253FHB and door seal has gone. I got a new one and am at the moment trying to fit it. I got the seal seated OK then turned the whole thing into the drum, but can I hell get the inner ring with the spring back on. Is there a special knack? Do you put it on open then join it together or do you join it together then try. Either way it just keeps popping off again. Any helpful suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks

Easiest with the front of the cabinet removed – gives more room for helping hands to lock the band on as you work round with a flat-bladed screwdriver.

It’s about the only way, and it is a patience job.

    Good luck,

Thanks Penguin but how do I get the front of the cabinet off? I cant see any screws or how it’s fastened on.

Front panel is retained by screws – behind the kick board at the bottom, and the control panel at the top, so these must be removed. There’s a combination of screw and snap fittings retaining them, so take your time and look carefully.

    Duplicate post removed.

I’ve done it! Thanks Penguin. I got the front panel off as you said but still had difficulty getting the clip on. In the end I joined the ring at the end of the spring and the hook with a piece of wire and wound it up like a Spanish windlass till they met.
    Thanks again
