After a year-long trial of the solution, parts data specialist, Infomill is launching a web-based guide to help engineers track down gas heating appliance spare part numbers.

Gas PartsArena TradeCounter, which launches this week, covers “˜virtually every gas heating appliance in the UK’. It will show exploded parts diagrams provided by the manufacturers. Each item on the diagram will be linked to the manufacturers’ part numbers and GC numbers.

It is intended to make identifying parts simple and error-free. “˜This will mean that stockists will be able to find the information they need in a fraction of the time and meet their customers’ demands far more efficiently’ said a spokesman for the company. “˜Meanwhile, large service companies with their own parts department will now have access to the most up-to-date information whenever they need it.’

Gas PartsArena TradeCounter follows on from the PDA and DVD-based versions of Gas PartsArena. These have already been lauded in the market for improving first-time fixes for engineers. The web-based version will provide this same functionality, but with flexible online access.

The solution is being launched as a subscription service for £275 per year. “˜We have trialled the service over a year to ensure it is right for our customers’ needs,’ said Infomill’s chief executive Jonathan Ralphs. “˜We have taken a great deal of feedback into account and we are confident that the full version now available will reap great rewards for gas parts stockists and engineers alike.’
