This really should be out in the open, and given time will be. For now I’m just fishing because there may be some work on the back of it if they cannot get their act together, alternatively there will be a walkout of Lec agents.

Are there any agents in the War room regards Lec? If so are you happy?

    1) They have “lost” invoices, and I’m owed some back to January.

    2) I’ve tried to order parts for THEIR calls that they have passed I/G. When we phoned to chase over a Month after the 1st order was faxed to the Prescot offices, we get told we need to open a trade account. Then they tell us we need to either pay by C/Card, or guarantee to buy £3k worth of goods per year. Now they are considering a “Contra” system. They tell me they have had some accountancy problems when it comes to Lec agents.

    3) They have taken on the Beko refrigeration, and lo & behold, I would have expected some Beko fridge work on the back of that. Sweet bu**er all.

That begs the question with refrigeration, what are they doing? They seem to experimenting with the Beko & having a crack at it themselves, and passing the Lec to us. I find that obscure to say the least. Ken Hart from Beko is none too pleased.

So in view of items as above, I thought, “Stuff em” I will put them on stop & terminate. However for now I’m going to let it roll and hopefully they will cock it up and give us some Beko work. Perhaps one day we will get an account as well as a DVD on Stoves/Belling products.

I know of at least one or two others not at all happy as well Alex.

Rumour is that they are using the agents only until all their own staff are trained and ready to cope, which is now supposed to be done. That would fit with experimenting on Beko whilst leaving LEC as a non-headache for them.

I was reliably informaed that all the troops have had the full 2 week LEC training course, then they made Dave Ponsford redundant. Nice.

More than rumour I can tell you. I had a tip-off back at the end of last year.

Dave Posford & Jim Wild both knew in February they were going. At that stage Dave hadn’t been asked to do any training.

I used to speak to Dave a lot, and there were days that all they done was sat in Bognor & drank coffee. In the meantime Glen Dimplex were learning the hard way when it came to refrigeration. I seem to recall Hoover/Gias done the same! (Remember them)

Ken Hart from Beko is not at all happy as he can anticipate that they will get it wrong big time, and when they find they cannot manage the cock-ups, they will be back. Part of the contract is to manage the customer in-house.

The reason that they are not passing on the Beko work is because on a Lec call they pay me £40 per job. The Beko rates were budgeted by EAC and were far too low, therefore Glen Dimplex are trying to keep the cost to a minimum by getting their own guys to manage the work out of season.

It may all end in tears!

Probably will and in all honesty I’d be surprised if it didn’t.

I’d say that GDA have bitten off more than they can chew in one lump and it will most likely bite them on the ass. Interestingly I mailed Kris Swiderski the other day and haven’t had a reply, which is unusual, so I’m guessing that he’s a tad on the busy side. 😉

Bollocks to the lot of them, they all got themselves in this shit and are trying to get themselves out it paying peanuts. So in a lot of ways I hope that a few people get fingers badly burned, might teach them a lesson although I doubt it severely in the case of some, they’re too damned stupid.

Had trade account for years Alex but their accounts department doesnt know their arse from their elbow. Trade discount is absolutely abysmal for agents some parts are actually cheaper to buy from Connect. They charge carriage on all order sunder £60 even for warranty work and as for the CD DVD its the worst I ve seen and there’s some bad ones out there.

Why do we do work for them, to get access to the spares Connect dont supply to do chargeable gas work. it always was very lucrative work in the past.
