Machine was dead. Found fuse was blown, replaced but still dead. Found fan was jammed with gravel + a 2″ long bolt with nut 8O. Cleared that but still dead. Power is getting to the 2 pin plug on the side of the motor assembly but not to motor brushes. I suspect it might be a motor TOC if there is one. It looks like you have to take the gearbox off before you can get the motor/switch assembly out but I can’t tell how you get the geafbox out.

Well I got the motor assembly out but now it appears that the switches etc are in a rivetted casing. Does this mean you have to renew the whole motor if a switch fails?

Thanks Tony, £399 for a motor 😯 🙄 Looks like the switch unit must come off the field coil somehow so I will be able to check motor continuity etc.
