ParticipantHi guys,
Was wondering if someone could kindly give me some advice?!
I have a Hotpoint mistral fridge freezer, and an error code EA has appeared. I’ve had a read through the various forums here but I can’t seem to find a problem which is exactly the same as this….
Basically the freezer compartment shows a temp. of +44 and then the thermometer symbol starts to flash…it then start showing EA which according to Hotpoint’s website means “No Feedback from Baffle” the fridge compartment regularly goes down to about -7!!! Does this mean that the air from the freezer is getting into the fridge but not back into the freezer compartment?! If so how can I fix the problem?
Many thanks

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for that….I have tried to find the model number, however it is nowhere to be seen and I no longer have the manual. I took out the salad tray to see if it was behind there, and I’ve also been looking while I’ve taken the thing apart and then put it back together but it doesn’t seem to appear anywhere….
All I can say is that it has a digital display, has mistral written on it and was purchased in 1999.
In addition to this I have removed the two thermisters in the freezer compartment to see if the error code changed with each one being removed which it did….I’m wondering if it would be best to simply try to replace the evaporator thermistor as see if that solves the problem?
What do you think?
Many thanks

The label will be found in the fridge itself – remove the crisper bins.

Thanks for that….However, there is nothing behind the crisper bins.
As I stated previously there is no label or stamp anywhere on the machine. And I have taken most of it apart…..
