My Creda Concept Solarplus main fan oven is not heating up. The light works at the oven control; the oven fan works, the light in the oven works, I have taken the element out and it looks fine. I tested it and it showed 23ohms, is this correct; I have seen figures quoted elsewhere but can’t remember the detail. The top oven and everything else works. If it is the thermostat can I test it without taking it out? Can I test it at all. I understand that it is fiddly to get out.

We have special guests coming next weekend and my wife is getting desperate ( to get it fixed). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is the first time that I have been on a forum so please forgive if my input is not correct.

The oven is model number 48349. 🙄

The element resistance seems about right. I suspect it is the oven door switch at fault (Behind R/H/side panel 😉 )

    Thanks for your reply Martin.

I took the element to a local electrical shop and they tested it; it was OK.
They suggested that it was the thermostat which I have now replaced today. A very fiddly job with lots of panels to remove. The oven now works !! 😆

When I first put the oven back together nothing at all worked; there was power in at the back where the cable connects but the timer and all plates and ovens were out. I thought that it must be the multi connector which I had disconnected in order to remove the halogen top for safety whilst working on the thermostat. With the side panel loosened off I pressed the connector halves together and this did the trick; not that it was particularly loose in the first place.

The door switch is fine ( I hope).

I hope the above is of help to others who need to dabble with their un-co operating ovens.

    Best wishes
    .
