Machine not draining so following the instruction manual I tried to check the filter for blockage. Can’t get the cover to unscrew. It turns one full turn anti-clockwise – just enough to get water running out – but I can’t move it further. Can I try to get to it from underneath if I tip the machine back? I presume there is something stuck in there for it to jam like this. Have removed it no problem in the past.
    Cheers for any suggestions.

There’s obviously something caught in the filter preventing you withdrawing the cap. It will involve taking the pump/filter unit off completely and accessing from behind. 🙁

If you are unsure how to proceed, I suggest getting a local engineer in to sort it for you (won’t be that costly to do)…click the link below for one in your Postcode area 🙂

Thanks for that. I will have another go at it tomorrow and if no success will call out the washing-machine-repair-man!

Tried again with washing machine tipped back a little. Jiggled the twist-cap back and forth half a dozen times as far as it would go each way and then heard a clunk! The cap turned a little more so I did the same again a couple more times and then the cap came out!… to reveal a 2p piece and a 1p piece stuck together and also a small wodge of duct/duck tape. Typical man’s pocket contents, eh?
Did a wash and worked like a dream – well, back to normal anyway!
Thanks for advice above – it was because you said something must be caught in there that made me try again before calling someone out.
    Many thanks!
