    My Smartdrive 601 works OK except the occasional reluctance to start.

    When “Start” pressed, the “Long Wash” LED flashes.

    Entered diagnostics mode by holding down “Water Temp Down” and press “Start”. Fault code displayed is 00100000, reading from right to left. Also, “Water Level Low” LED is lit.

    Any comments will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    You’ve got it back to front – should read 00000100 – fault 4. It’s a communications error between the display board and the Motor controller. It could be either – substitution is the only way to find out, I’m afraid.

    For all start problems, it’s worth checking out lid switch and OOB switch for operation and function. Both suffer from corrosion problems and dodgy wiring.
