ParticipantWent to put a load of washing in this morning (baby sick all over bedding through the night, lovely lol) to find it as dead as a dodo! No electrics working at all, hubby checked the fuse but found nothing wrong there, any ideas as with 6 kids I desperately need my washer. It is only about 2 & a half years old.
Thanks in advance
Lou

Hi
Maybe mains supressor blown.
A quick visual with lid and power off should suffice :plug:Greg

Hi
Opened up the top of the machine (power off lol) and cant see anything that looks like it may have blown, everything inside the machine looks immaculate. What would the signs be of the compressor blowing (and blonde moment, well not really but I am female ) where is the compressor.
Thanks again
Lou

Hi
Its actually a supressor 😉 If you follow mains cable into appliance to where it enters appliance, you will see it terminate on a cylindrical unit (the supressor)
With the power off, examine this unit for any splits or cracks etc.Greg

Ah well, there you go then lol 😳
Had a look at this, does it have 4 coloured wires attatched to it? If yes then there is nothing at all wrong with it, everything is connected ok and no cracks etc.
Any clues?

Hi Lou
Ask hubby witha multimeter, to check( unplugged) each pin of plug top to the suppressor and make sure that there is no break in the cable. Anything more and I really think you may need an engineer Im afraid.Greg

Hiya
Just to update you, the pcb has gone, have been advised to get a new washer, part would cost around £180 plus labour and been advised to never touch servis with a bargepole!!
Thanks for all your help

Don’t know wher those prices came from. You could try repairs@ for a more realistic quote of around £85

I agree never touch a servis with a part with a bargepole, a parts centre inside a castle with a moat around it situated in the south of france as a holiday home with several cars in the uk etc.

I’ll have a pint of whatever WVM’s on, please. 😀
Let’s just set this in context. Servis machines are pretty low end appliances, occupying the £200-300 range in the main. As such, they are manufactured to the lowest acceptable standard to get through the guarantee period.
Personally, I don’t have a problem with cheap appliances – where Servis go wrong is their pricing policy for parts. If it’s a cheap machine, it should have cheap parts – these don’t.
Anyway, being kind to Loopy, who’s probably wondering what she’s stirred up, there are far better appliances available for not a great deal more money.
