As some of you are on to this, better let you guys in on the secret.

Was talking to Derek Baker of Rangemaster some time ago. He was asking me who I carried out work for in the way of agencies, and he let slip they are moving to a managing agent.

JTM was mentioned as he was a fan of Fitz, and shared some Dublin contacts through the Gas industry.

He also said he was pally with Roy Fisher as they went back a long way, and he fancied the idea of CDSL handling the stock.

Good news, he’d never heard of Service Power, and distrusted NESN.

    So now you know.

Seems to me to be the choice between a rock and a hard place. 😕

    Re: Rangemaster

Nice to know they are not able to keep a secret then…….

Way back in November 2005 we were assisting Rangemaster with agents to allow them to assess the going direct route, getting rid of BG.

For sure we don’t know which way they will go, both of the mentioned ways are as bad as each other, but, we know there is another player in the game and we are supplying agent info to this player.

Sorry we can’t tell you who, it’s far to early for that, but I suspect they are going to have to start contacting agents soon or indeed advertise for agents through our pages.

    It’s far from settled yet.

    For this room only…

CDSL have gained the rangemaster in guarantee work (possibly 15,000) calls per year. Suppose to start 1st October 2006, but likely to start 1st August according to GA who I asked yesterday regarding the info we heard.
    JTM have the refrigeration work.
Grafters have the commercial and chargeable side.

It’s been split between networks as Rangemaster have been badly hit by BG’s poor record and they are wary of putting all their eggs in one basket again.

It’ll be interesting what CDSL pay for the work. One of our members has been working direct for Rangemaster @ £62.50 + Vat per call. I believe CDSL are going to pay some agents more than others, no proof, but it cetainly looks like they will allow some agents to claim a mark up on spares and others not, again rumour at the moment.

GA told me that they have not signed the contract yet, therefore keep this under your hat for the moment.

    Re: Rangemaster

I heard about this yesterday from a source outside of CDSL so I may be tempted to post it in the rumour mill 😉

Or the link between Kevin and Myself is too obvious, anyone else ?

All official now then, been invited to a training course next week at Bordesly Green.

Rates still to be set I’ve been told.
