Apologies if this is a duplicate post – I tried to post this yesterday, but couldn’t find it in the forum.
I have a Diplomat ADP8226 integrated dishwasher showing an error code of E3 which the manual say means that it can’t heat the water – is this likely to just need a replacement heating element, or is it going to be more complicated to fix?
Any suggestions will be gratefully received!

Can’t say that I recognise this one from memory, but it is a SMEG-built appliance. The code means “no heat detected in the time allowed” – not necessarily heater failure, although it is a distinct possibility. Board failure, temperature sensor failure, safety cut-out failure and broken wiring in the door are all possibilities……..
You will need a test meter to test the element for impedence, and the other circuits mentioned for continuity. Power off, of course.
If the heater has failed, please read the sticky relating to the E2 problem at the top of this forum, as this can often be a “cause and effect” fault.
