It appears the Drain Pump has failed. However does antone know what control the pump and on what pins should I find the live feed when in empty mode. I assume the case has to be slip to gain access to the pump. Regards Peter

    Peter,
We will not advise you on how to perform “live” testing – please check the rules as outlined here:

Within these limitations, I can advise you of the following. Your machine uses an “Askoll” type pump, which is prone to the following faults:

    1) Wear – set the machine to the drain programme and apply ear to front of casing. If you can hear a faint hum, there is power going to the pump motor, but it is not revolving.
    2) Failure – the coils can overheat and blow – this is normally visible when the pump is inspected.

Access – tip the machine back and get it from underneath – a lot less work.

A supply failure on this particular appliance would be most unusual.

We do advise you to cut the power when accessing the pump.

spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to supply a replacement at a competative price if required.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

Yep did that, and although access was difficult I removed the pump to find a cotton bud in the rotar. How it got thru the filter I will never know. Clean and lubed the O ring and replaced. Machine presently doing a cyle to test. Thanks for your help. Regards Peter
