Participantbeen to m/c today, and customer complaining of the conditioner not going out, customer had sent away for the drawer themselves, and got a whole new assy. connect part no: 5031684743124.orig no: (09182981) this has come back as a kit, with the drawer and top assy. customer had fitted the drawer but not the top, does he need to?. also the new dispenser is entirely different to the old one. it is lower in the compartment and seems to spill out the conditioner over of the side, overflow?. so never reaching the syphon cap height to empty properly, thus leaving water in all the time
p.s. the picture of the one on connect site is the exact same one i need. can any one help, with info, or a reason to why this is happening, is it modified?.

As far as I am aware the dispenser draw was changed sometime back, eliminating the ‘in wash bleach section’. Your model should have already had the modified draw in it so you shouldn’t have to change the top section. Have you tried winding the front feet down a turn or two as this can help the syphoning action. (it has worked for me on a number of oocasions). Also shorten the return spring on the dispenser actuating lever. Check the lever on the top of the dispenser is 2 notches above the middle point.( There is a maximum fill point in the conditioner compatment so don’t go above that)

i have checked the lever settings at the dispenser, and its giving the max flow into the cnditioner, but what is actually happening is that the drawer cannot fill up to max height to actuate the syphon, because the modified?/different, detergent drawer has a bit cut out of the side acting as an overflow, well below the height of the syphon top, about a half inch. sorry showing my age. 10mm. so the conditioner is actually spilling over the side, leaving water still con’d comp.
flummexed!.

Have you tried seeing if the compartment syphons when holding it under a running tap. On my machine at home the water does flow over the overflow section but when the water has dropped below this point the syphoning action kicks in and fully drains the compartment. (don’t want to seem rude, but is there a syphoning cap over tube at the back of the compartment?)

Part number is now 97920946 which is what your customer should have recieved and it does require the top to be changed 😉
