ParticipantIve done a search on here and it appears the display has come up and been talked about but it seems no one knows the reason. The machine washes perfect but i was just wondering if anyone got to the bottom of this strange readout
Many thanks in advance
Chris

You’re right, it’s come up a few times – we never did get an explanation! However, it doesn’t appear to have any effect on machine function, so I suspect it was never pursued that vigorously.

Does the display actually show anything other than ‘-c0n’?
If not, it may be worth checking the connections to the display?
Power off if you decide to look into it.

Ive only just had time to look into this but apprently its saying -con due the the fact that the machine has detected condensation in or on the electrics and not as many people think -con refering to something to do with the conditioner.
So the question is now how does this machine monitor for condensation??

CON stands for conductivitry sensor, some machines have one and some dont, there is a cure and it is pretty simple realy.

It appears to be a device situated just above the pump on certain machines only. ๐
My guess is that a simple fix would be to isolate it, then it will give a ‘normal’ ๐ conductivity reading.
But then I could be completely wrong. ๐ณMay 24, 2007 at 4:32 pm #179099g7pkf

hi, the con display you are seeing on your machine is not an error code, it is the word END in a foreign lanquage and nothing to worry about.I Know this because i had a Ariston engineer come to look at mine for this excact reason. Ths is the reason why it only appears at the end of a program. My machine has done this since having it and I have had no problems with it.

That explanation seems to be at odds with what johnnyj said earlier in this thread, and he is an Indesit/Hotpoint/Ariston engineer. Some of these machines do have a conductivity sensor.
Which language uses ‘con’ for end?

No sorry i have heard several reasons for it, one was static in the machine, the other water pressure and the third and most hones “i dont have a clue” and replaced the conductivity sensor and control board, (problem now fixed)

Con, could be Italian for the END of well respected brands that are actually Indesit/Candy/Antonio Merloni underneath. Now that is a con. ๐ฅ
