ParticipantNever want to see another Brandt integrated D/W! However I have to fix this one as my honour is at stake!
Water was splashing out of the corners in big spurts during the wash. (Machine was levelled OK and water level was OK) So I changed the main door seal (got weird plastic corner clips at the base) and this did absolutely nothing. No splits in the pan etc. etc. so I suspected the base seal.
The base water seal (black rubber, runs almost the full width, quite wide) clips onto the metal crossbar at its upper end, but I’m not sure whether it clips onto (1) the base of the inner door or (2) the front edge of the base pan (wash pan) at its lower end. It came adrift, the customer said, so they fixed it to (2) but it leaked badly (so they called me). I fixed it to (1) and it still leaked badly! I’ve got a new seal just arrived and I would like to know how to fit it! Can anyone help please.
Frankly I cannot see why so much water is coming out of this machine (and I’ve unfortunately spent 1.5 decades fixing D/Ws so I’m not a rookie) but at least I’d like to fit the base seal correctly!
Thanks

A split in the bottom spray arm is a very common cause of this fault, the water floods out.

Interesting – could be I failed to spot this, although I looked pretty closely.
Do you know how this bottom seal fits on (I have to fit it regardless)?
Cheers

Only worked on the Hotpoint variant, never changed the bottom seal or the door seal, always cured with new lower spray arm.

I have had this problem before (hotpoint variant) changed goal post seal -which says on mod notes in box it will cure this common problem) :rotfl: changed bottom seal upper/lower spray arms never been able to repair 4 out of 7 models visited, but spoke to local hotpoint engineer who said turn the pressure switch down by 1/4 turn will try this next time.

just seen your dilema on forum, usually the seals are fitted on the front lip of the container, so as the door closes it compresses down onto the cabinet. please note these seals are never watertight. it is for stopping a wave effect up under the door..
iadom is on the right track about split in bottom of spray arm. this cuases a wave effect, and pushes water under door. also check centre bush on arm, if is allows arm to dip into the water when rotating, has same effect.

I have come across similar problem with a leak in the corners, usally to do with weight of the outer door panel sometimes you need to adjust the door springs, bit tricky as you have to pull dishwasher out to adjust.

TELL..Thanks for reply Tell, but I just wanted to clarify here… nearlyall the D/Ws I’ve ever worked on have the bottom seal attached to the base of the inner door panel. Does this (Brandt) one actually clip to the front edge of the water pan rather than the door panel (I’m doing this job this afternoon)?
Cheers.
