ParticipantI have a Zanussi FAE 1025V washer that appears to have developed a fault.
All it will do, when any program is selected & the ‘On’ button pressed, is pulse the pump for a second, then nothing. (About a cup full of clean water is expelled from the waste pipe)
I’ve removed the filter, and I can see the pump rotor turning. There is no obstruction.
Any suggestions welcome…
Cheers,
Nick.
Ps, it’s 3 years old and had light domestic use only.June 22, 2006 at 9:48 am #179744Dave_Conway

I assume no fault codes are being displayed ?
Once switched on and after the pump pulses, is the door locked ?

No fault codes are displayed, and the door is locked. Once turned off the door is released after the normal delay time.

That rules out the door lock then, what happens when you select a spin only cycle ?
If it’s the same then it’s engineer time to be honest as there’s an electronic problem by the sound of it. Check the repairs@ link below should the need arise 🙂

Ok, with the unit tipped against the wall (So I can see underneath), the spin cycle started as normal. The pump also ran, but not full speed (I assume this is normal for expelling waste water) then the spin cycle went a lot faster, and the vibration caused the machine to drop back to the tiles, narrowly missing crushing my pinkies. (Note to self, wear boots when messing about with anything more than a hair dryer)
Much as I would love to avail myself of one of your trusted engineers, I’m now living in the Czech Repblic & I would rather sort this one out myself.
I’m happy to order new bits from your online store, rather than get ripped of locally.
I have a multimeter & a BIG hammer if this helps 😉
Cheers Dave,

UPDATE:
After the spin cycle, I tried a normal program, and the blasted thing is working again 👿
That’s annoying.June 22, 2006 at 10:00 pm #179748gegsy

I would not recommend this practice. Not only could you harm yourself but you could do irrepairable damage to the appliance.
