    Hi there

    We have an old Valor 500 free- standing gas cooker that has a faulty flame failure device. We have been unable to find the part anywhere so far.

    Does anyone know where we could get one, or if not is there an alternative part which would fit this model?

    Hi Chris,

    It may well be no longer available, Dave will know better. But unless you have a valid CORGI registration card we wouldn’t be able to sell you one anyway as we have rules about such things.

    I’d need the GC number from the rating plate to check but as Ken says, it’s probably obsolete now 🙁

    Thanks for getting back to me Dave and kwatt.

    The numbers written on the plate read-

    Serial number: 001637
    Cat 2H for g20 at 20mbar(8 ins wg)
    Total heat input: 17.5 kw

    Is that what you meant?

    I appreciate the rules kwatt. I wouldn’t attempt such a task myself, but would be happy to pay someone if the part does exist.

    Try Stoves on 0870 4449929 as they own (or did) the Valor brand name at the time.

    Stoves have been able to supply me with the flame failure device!

    I am stupidly happy, as I’ve searched high and low for this part!

    Thank you so much.

    I will get back in touch for an engineer in my area once the part arrives.
