My Hotpoint Mistral Plus 8596P fridge freezer (frost free) is showing +24 in the fridge and -22 in the freezer – this seems to be a common problem with this model.

No ‘E’ faults showing in display but low temp warning for fridge. Door switch ok, condenser and fan working.

Only thing I could not find working was the internal cooling fan but that bench tested ok.

Reading your other posts on this problem I replaced the PCB (1/3 of price from QER) – no change.
Then I replaced the Evaporator Thermistor. This bought life back to the cooling fan in the freezer, comes on at -6 and does go off when the fridge door is opened. It does stay on all the time, even at -22 is this right? The fridge stays the same +24.

I believe there is a motorised flap in the unit that the cold air from the freezer passes through, if so where it and is it PCB or sensor controlled?

Other then that, what else can I change that would get this fridge/freezer working again as it fits into our kitchen nicely?

It’s in the fridge and PCB controlled (via the fridge thermistor). Check to see if the flap is open, if it is then it’s working OK.

Or there is ice in the tube from the freezer to the fridge.

check that the condensor fan is running and the condensor is not blocked could be linted up.

After changing the yellow thermistor (evap sensor) did you fully defrost the evaporator and check the ducts were clear?

If the temperature were -22 freezer and +24 fridge, and the door switch was being switched off fully, I would’ve suspected the yellow thermistor myself.
Faulty PCB’s and motorized flaps are quite rare and normally result in an error code.
