    Hi,

    I have recently moved into a new house which has a built-in Diplomat dishwasher. It possibly hadn’t been used in approximately two months. I turned it on for the first time last night and after a few minutes I heard a loud banging/knocking noise and then the dishwasher stopped. I opened it and there was a burning smell coming from inside so I turned it off. I noticed that after trying to turn on my tv that it had tripped a switch. I turned the electric back on and checked the sockets were working ok so i then tried to turn the dishwasher back on but when i did it just gave a small bang with a spark/small flame from inside the dishwasher. It didnt trip the electric this time. Needless to say I haven’t tried to turn it on again.
    Any ideas what I have done??? Typical woman……. 🙁

    You haven’t done anything, there is a fault with the dishwasher 😉

    Check the repairs@ link below for a local engineer who should be able to take a look and see what the problem is, hopefully nothing major 🙂
