Our washer dryer has packed up, just out of warranty, needless to say! After turning on, the dial clicks around steadily with the LED giving 3 flashes, then a break, then 3 more flashes. Would be extremely grateful for any advice on what the fault code is and the practicality of fixing the problem.

Problem with the temperature control circuitry. Sensor may have failed; these appliances are also prone to failures in the wiring loom. If these are all functional, the fault is probably in the computer board.
If it is just out of warranty, a spirited discussion with Indesit’s service department might yield a concession on the repair rate, but I wouldn’t bank on it.
A more economic course of action may well be to use the repairs@ option in the link below.
Power off if you choose to investigate the problem yourself.
