    hi

I’ve had an AEG B8340-1 oven for about 2 1/2 years, today was cooking a pizza when i smelt a nasty smell. Opened the door and found part of the heating element embeded in the pizza. There was some sort of silvery metalic substance all over the element and a silver powder residue on the inside of the oven.

Obviously, the element needs replacing but is the thermostat also likely to be faulty? Found a place selling elements for £55, does this sound about the right price. Part number is 8996619265334

    Any thoughts are most appreciated.

Pretty much yes, this is the grill element (which is what you were using at the time I guess ? :))

I can supply for £54.18 inc VAT and carriage no problem, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk please if you’d like one

    Dave.
