Ariston D/W LSI 45/50

Machine does not show any error codes. The mains indicator light is on, sometimes you can press the Programme button and you get the beep and the neons will indicate in sequence with the presses. Close the door and the pump started to drain for a couple of seconds then machine went dead. Open door and no programme neons are lit, only the mains indicator. Pressing the Programme button after this, it is sometimes dead and on other attempts it will beep and flash along the programmes. Removed door panel no obvious loom faults, however I did find that the dispenser solenoid was O/C. Just to try and kid the machine 😉 I plugged in a fill valve solenoid but I still got either nothing at all or short bursts of drain pump then nothing.

I know Smeg/Diplomat/Bosch etc can throw a wobbly if the dispenser solenoid is dicky. Has anyone come across this on an Indesit/Ariston appliance and what are the chances of the module being damaged by the solenoid ?
