I need a thermal fuse for a hpt wd63p part no. 1600870 but when I order it changes to hpt1605635 which I have been told is a suitable replacement but it doesn`t fit as the old one was rectangular and the new one is square. Does anyone have a hpt1600870 i can buy? or a grinder and a crowbar so i can fit the new one.

    Thanks, barrie

Why does it matter if it’s square or rectangular, or does it fit into a recess on the dryer box (can’t remember now) ?

If Andy (Masterpart) has the old style then that’s the one you need 🙂

Dave the fuse fits between two metal bits which the spring for holding it in place goes under. The square one is too big to sit between these and therefore would not be on the heater box.

Simply bend the two side stops a little to accomodate the larger TOC (as shown below 😉 )
