need some advice as soon as. this machine belongs to one of my neighbours, sods law says that despite fixing washers all day every day, the one that stumps you is too close to home.
first of all i was called to it because it was stuck full of water. the pump i thought, but not that easy.
    symptoms are:

the main on/off switch is working and it activates a relay on the main module however when either spin only or drain only is selected on the dial, it will not start at all the start led does not illuminate. the minutes to end display does.

if you switch on and select any wash cycle the start led does light up and when the button is pressed the door locks and it takes in water. as soon as its filled it goes dead although the lights are still on.

if you then try to select drain out or spin it’s back to the no start function problem.

i have checked the module for dry joints etc, checked the fhp motor, metered the drain pump. removed the facia to check the front panel for damage.

i attempted to select spin only after removing the pressostat tube to ensure it was in the empty position. incidentally this pressostat is white with a black bellows cover. gently blowing in produces two distinct clicks.

the module has the following identity

    ako 546 512/522
    eep 47 493-02
    bsh 306 5827 ac5
    163 7153 ac9

    date 23.11.00

if you all think it’s the module, do you have any idea of price

    thanks

    Hi
If no earth leakage and component check is normal I would suspect module 263909 £162.74 +VAT from BSH.
