I use the same type (very handy) and every time I go to the USA I get the US equivalent from HOME DEPOT (what a great store that is)…I have 2 spare ones left..(They come in RED by the way)

    Make me an offer? 😆

    Hi

I use a leather tool pouch which is approx 18″ x 12″ folded and it holds everything that i would normally ned other than for system repairs.

saves the possibility of damage to worktops ect and a hell of a lot lighter.

i get mine made whilst on holiday in spain approx £35 a time

I have used various toolboxes over the years and the best one I found which I have now is a CK softbag. You can get everything you need in this bag for routine repairs, i.e 89{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of all jobs. The heavy stuff which starts to way down any type of tool case or box such as hammers, socket extension bars and the like I have in a seperate box inside my vehicle.

Therefore you can travel much more lightly without having a hernia when you have stairs, blocks of flats, or a walk when parking is a issue.

E Bay is the place for these at around £40.00 . and it will not take a lump out of someones doorway or mark their worktop ! 😀

But a six tray, 28 inch, metal cantilever is perfect for taking a lump out of the dog that nipped your ankle, just after the customer says, “he’s very friendly” 😥 😆

I always love my toolbox. My current toolbox is always the best I’ve ever had. I spend half an hour or more in each shop trying to decide which one is best. I rarely throw any away either. My shed contains 6 old toolboxes.

    Re: tool boxes

I thought only I collected toolboxes, I have a RS heavy duty case which goes up in value better than the housing market.
Trouble with that because its got everything in it that I want, its too heavy.
But it certainly is a showpiece and looks good when impressing the customer. That said
I picked up a case from Ebay for around £70 with no base board.
That carries most tools inc cordless and kneeling pad. Thats really handy so much so that I increased the tools and weight to nearly the equivelant of the first kit.
Then of course is the bearing (thumping box) with special tools, bearing tools etc.

After taking on an employed role, even using a car I couldnt resist another tool case, although the tools are generally different – AF for one.

I still get the urge to buy just another screwdriver…. as I ponder outside the tool shop. 😳

Is it just me who is a tool junkie?
I am sure I could get the whole third world working with the gear sat waiting for just another tub job.

    Squadman.

Took you advise and ordered a CK Soft bag, Great buy got it for £24+ from my local Lecy Wholesalers. Best thing is that I store it in the passanger foot well between jobs and saves me going to the back of the van every time i get to the next job. Plus no damage to to doors and door frames ect. Well impressed. Cheers

    Re: tool boxes

stanley tool bag out of b&q….quite good
only prob shoulder strap tends to snap when you have collected around
4.5 kilos of self tappers/nuts/bolts squashed tubes of sealer..super glue.

ps why does the super glue fuse onto your best screwdriver, and not the cheap crapy one that you keep meaning to throw out ???

pps i found a zanussi drain pump at the bottom of toolbag today, ive been looking for it for ages in the back of the car…it was right underneath this little wig-wam of stuck together cables-ties,pressure hose and alsorts of bits of plastic, dont quite know where the bits of plastic came from…
eh well a do but there may be customers reading….
