Hi, I’ve seen a few topics on here about warm fridge sections, but cold freezers. My Zx79/5 has just developed these symptoms, notably after it was cleaned the other day.

I now have it turned off to try and defrost it. (luckily we found somewhere to put the food for the weekend).

The fridge was at about 20 degrees, with the lower section being about 11 degrees Celsius, so some cold air is gettting in there.

Assuming this works, is there a likely cause of the problem? The compressor and the fan are both working, the pipes going into the compressor are hot and cold like they should be.

    Thanks for any help.

If it recurs then yes, very likely there is an underlying problem but it may well be a one off 🙂

See how it goes after the defrost.

Thanks Dave, what sort of time should I leave it to defrost for? A couple of days?

Yep, 48 hours is sufficient time for a total defrost 🙂

OK, this has happened again just a few weeks ago. Fixed it by defrosting for a coupe of days. Ever since then all the warning lights (3 of em) have been flashing. The fridge and freezer are both cold / freeing respectively. Any ideas on what my be causing the lights to flash?
