ParticipantHi…could someone please help…BSH man…? or anyone
I Have the Bosch frostfree kgu 32121 gb/02.
The problem is the fridge is too warm and the freezer is too cold(is set at -18/ and reaches-27)?
The main board has been changed (on top of fridge)
Fans are running in fridge and freezerHave checked the evaporator and it is not blocked…there is a small build up of ice on the botoom of the freezer.
Have been advised it could be a sensor problem in the fridge…so I have a new ntc sensor/however when I cut off the old sensor it has brown/blue wires, the problem is there is no indication on the new sensor as to which way the wires should be conected???
I assume it does not matter??
Will try this and let you know the outcome.
If this does not work…what else could it be…?
I’m thinking the sensor (behind the bottom tray)in the freezer…?Or could it be the evaporator sensor…?
Please enlighten me…Family is going nuts!
Thanks.

Have changed the sensor in the fridge /still no luck!
Did not try swaping the wires over(brown/blue) …will this help…?
Have also noticed the fridge fan is running quite a bit slower than the freezer fan.
Is this normal…?
Thanks.

Hi sunny
These appliances are quite sophisticated in many ways, I would seek an engineer from link below to be honest.Greg

Hi gegsy…I understand they are sophisticated….however I am qualified in areas of electronics and would like to be given the chance to fix the problem myself…just need help in dong so….in order to save money of course.
I myself have helped many others on many other forums with many other problems in various areas.
That’s what makes forums like these great…help yourself and help others. As a last resort I may call an engineer. But have already been stung by British gas engineer who said the problem was the main timer control…which he changed.
Yet the problem persistsFor now I will await the knowledge and experience of fellow members.
Thanks

Hi
What I would do is give it a 24hour defrost.
If the problem re occurs in a say a wekk you will know if there is a fault with the appliance.
The orientation of the wires to the sensor are not important.Greg

Hi …thanks for the info…
Have already tried that..still no luck./Definatly a fault.just gotta pinpoint it.
Will give Bosch technical another go in the morning.Have also cleaned out the pipe at the back of the freezer above the motor /thinking it might be blocked…but it was relativly clean.

If drain was blocked it wouldn’t affect the fridge only if the freezer was choked up with ice.

The way you’re going at the minute you’ll have spent more on spares than on getting an expert in to sort it.
As Gegsy said, these are sophisticated beasts and remote diagnosis is difficult at best.
Do yourself a favour and ring an expert.

It sounds, from the description, that the fridge fan is the problem.
The fridge sensor (NTC) is mounted very high near the fan. When the fridge requires cooling, air must pass over the sensor to cool it sufficiently. If the fan is running too slow (or not at all if the door has dropped and not pressing the switch fully)
Then the fridge will call for compressor run time. Thus the freezer temp will drop(it can’t help it) and the fridge will struggle. Remember there is no fridge evaporator. :lesson:Hope this helps.

Hi…Thanks for the replys boro/bsh man…
Bsh man/The fridge sensor on this model is actually mounted in the bottom of the fridge compartment behind the right side salad drawer. It is covered by a small 4inch plastic vented grill
The fan is at the top.Definately running slower than the freezer fan. What you say makes perfect sense…I also suspected the fan…do you know if the fridge fan should run at the same speed as the freezer fan?
I realise the evaporator is in the freezer….
Could it be the ntc sensor in the freezer…ie not sensing the -18 cut off?
As it seems the original fridge sensor was okay is it worth replacing the freezer 1 with it…?Thanks.

Thanks.IIRC the fridge and freezer fans are of the same power and should turn at the same speed.
I would’nt of thought the fridge would be much affected if the freezer NTC was making the temps too low in the freezer.July 17, 2006 at 5:31 pm #182057expertcat
ParticipantHad this problem before on a bosch it ended up as a mag valve failure.
I dont know if this model has a mag valve on it?

I would’nt of thought the fridge would be much affected if the freezer NTC was making the temps too low in the freezer. Thanks for the fan confirmation…have ordered a replacment/sending the sensor back and will report back to see if it has cured it.
If it does not I think I’ll probably throw the whole thing and get a new one!…what a waste.
If I do decide to go for another one, can only afford to go for classixx rather than logixx…is ther much of a diffrerence part from the interior mouldings….?Keep you posted.

No fridge evaporator = no mag valve. 😉

BSH-MAN A big thanks goes out to you…from me and the family!
Fan/motor replaced and now all is good…cold fridge + cold freezer!
Slight minor thing though, have noticed the fridge temp is 1-2 degrees colder than it should be (2 degrees should be 4)
and the freezer temp is 1-3 degrees warmer ( -15.5 should be -18 )
Is this normal…ie to flucuate a few degrees…?
If not what could this be…?Thanks.
