    Hi,

We’ve got a whirlpool washing machine, I think the model no. is AA1200 or AWM1204/4 (both those no’s are on the front so I’m not sure which it is as the instructions have vanished). My Mum recently washed a blanket in there and ever since the machine has been full of purple fluff. How can we get rid of it? We have tried emptying the filter thingy at the bottom right hand corner to no avail and the machine isn’t draining properly anymore. Is there anything we can do or has she completely ruined the machine?

    Please help!

Sounds like a major strip down of sump hose and drain system to remove all traces of blanket debris.

Unplug before attempting any of this.

Thanks, is that something a qualified person needs to do, or could we do it?

Depends on how confident and able you are. I would suggest looking at the link below for an engineer though.
