I have decided to bite the bullet and do a spider/bearing job on a Creda W200fw, normaly I would change the whole drum assy.

Ordered a spider bearing kit 1604770 to find out its the wrong one 😳 I have one or two MKI drum assys lying about that this kit will fit but I am reluctent to do this.

Several phone calls to the wholesalers and I am still no nearer getting the right kit, the spider shaft is 30mm. Can you experts on these bearing changes please point me in the right direction? before the rope goes over the banister. Next time I will stick to the full drum assy.

30mm bearing kit only is part number 1604600 but whether you can get the spider to match (is the new one 30mm ?) 😕

    Hi Dave

The spider in the 1604770 kit is 35mm, it seems that a 30mm spider may not be available to match the 1604600 bearings, I may have to fit a drum half and new spider unless someone knows different. Incidentally 1604600 bearings are only recognised at Connect.

Drum support is stock code GDA1604477, and bearing kit is GDA1604600 both in stock @ Masterpart. Official Indesit word on the 30mm set is “fitted to all WMA platforms since october 2003 with spin speeds up to 1200rpm”, although not really relevant if someone has replaced with a 35mm tub!

    Thanks Andy 🙂 😉

I am fitting a new drum back half which up-rates the machine to a 35 mm shaft, less problems if it has to be replaced again. 🙂
