On occasions my FF72P keeps getting too warm (freezer and fridge temperatures go up to -4 and 15 resp.). It has otherwise been at the correct tempearture of -22.
The unit had been completely defrosted over several days but I skipped the 2 hours settling time when I moved the unit in.
Any idea why this is happening and what to do?

    Re: Too warm

Probably the ambient temperature being so very high right now is not helping and the compressor is working overtime trying to reduce the temperature inside?

24 hours or more are needed after defrost for it to get down to a more normal temperature. In this weather ensure the room it sits in is cool also. 😉

Dog hair/ dust etc behind front panel at bottom may also not be helping(unclips).

    Re: Too warm

Thanks for tips; the room its in is only warm and the dust has been hoovered out already and the unit has stood for days since the defrost – so it could be something else?

The unit makes a humming noise that stops when it gets to about -11 and starts again at about -4 (freezer temperatures).

mattpennifold wrote:I have read the information already on the site for this unit. However my problem seems to be different in that the freezer stops when it gets to -11 (ie not getting cold enough).

Moved here to keep it tidy and relevent 😉

Possible system failure in that case, engineer time really to be honest, check the repairs@ link below 🙂

    Re: Too warm

Is the fridge blowing out warm air from the bottom front grill?

    Re: Too warm

Not blowing out – but there is hot air around there. Also the unit is hot on the sides.

Sounds like it is doing its best, and simply cannot cope due to ambient temp.

Get a fan round the back and blast it with cool air for a few hours. It is what we all need.

    Re: Too warm

I would just check the condenser fan motor is working… I’ve changed three of the plaset types this week (so far 😀 ,) they don’t like it when it gets this hot.
