ParticipantAnyone else having problems with these pattern pumps. I`ve had a few come back to me in 12 month guarantee period and I know you can`t expect too much at under a fiver but it`s a right pain getting these recalls and I`d rather pay a bit more and feel confident with the part I`m fitting.
Had one today and I fitted a Hanning pump to the filter housing and I think you could fit a variety of pumps to the 51-BS-08 housing 🙂 .
The impellor`s have been falling off the original pumps which really do seem poor quality .
I think 51-BS-02 is the other one with the larger inlet pipe, but same pump.

Are the pumps used made by “Artiko” by any chance ?
I’ve had a few noisy ones from Masterpart this year 🙁

Can`t find any manufacturer on them 😕 , I`ve been getting them from Seme.
“Q.C. Passed” label on them 🙄 ………..aye that`ll be right.

Hi
Do they look like ASKOL made pump motors , Samsung have had lots fail with impellors falling off or noisy, and asking for all failed pumps to be returned for checking. They are made by ASKOL in Brazil , ASKOL made in Italy seem to OK

I ordered 5 of these last year and chucked them all in the bin… Well not exactly… I replaced the motors with pmp999s and threw the motors in the bin 😉

Smart move Bob , did you just have a gut feeling that the original pump wouldn`t be up to the job ❓
Washman , looks like the Italians are better than the Brazilians at making pumps and playing football .

That’s the ones, QC passed in red and a blue date stamp ?
No idea who or where Artiko are, nothing googling for them 😕

Can`t find Artiko on them Dave but I`m sure we`re speaking about the same pump.
As Bob suggested I`m going to fix something more reliable to the filter housing , am I right in thinking I`ve ordered some gen. Bosch pumps and received a standard Hanning ❓ . PMP8808 fits a treat 😀 they`re pretty reliable aren`t they :?:.

I dunno, the ones I have are the bayonet (3 way) type, that one is the screw on that replaces the standard Askol and Plaset ones.
Is there a Hanning pump base with a bayonet fitting (I can’t find one 😕 )
Dave.

Now this is getting confusing.
51-BS-08 from SEME has a filter housing that you could fit (with screws ) almost any standard Askoll or Plaset pump , I just picked pmp8808 because I think I`ve seen genuine Bosch pump assemblies use a standard Hanning.
Is the “Artiko” pump you mention a bayonet fitting ❓

Yep, it’s the pump end of M/P’s BS51120 (photo gone from their website )

Feel compelled to resurrect this thread because I`ve had to replace another 3 of these pumps since this discussion . Looking back my records , having fitted 12 of these pumps , I`ve now replaced 9 within 12 month guarantee period and always due to the impellor falling off for no reason.
Very surprised nobody else has had similar bad experiences with these pumps or maybe I`m the only idiot who bought them 😮 .
Anyway lesson well and truly learned.

No!….I’m confused on this pump?
Bryan wrote:51-BS-08 from SEME
I don’t deal with SEME and I threw their catalogue in the bin yonks ago, but the 51-BS-08 pump that Maddocks sell is a Hanning. Are we talking about the same pump I wonder? 😕
The other pumps Maddocks do (for the same machines) is 51-BS-14 (The ones I stock and fit and have mentioned in another thread .. they are an Askoll clone. Or 51-BS-15 that has a Plaset pump stuck on the end. 🙂

ParticipantRe: 51-BS-08 Bosch Pump
Just been on the Maddocks site Martin and right enough it`s a Hanning but I wonder if they`ve changed pumps due to problems or they supply SEME with a different version:?.
If you check 51-BS-14 then that appears to be the motor I`m having persistent problems with.
I know you mentioned that you`ve fitted a number of these without any problem (so far) but time will tell I guess.
