ParticipantThe pump will drain for 30-40 seconds then the machine loses power for about 2 minutes, then carries on to do it again. There is 230V at the input when washer has lost power. I replaced motor controller (can get parts at good price) and problem persists. New controller has introduced new fault as well. Water solenoids open and close on a 3 second cycle. (While in fill mode) Pump drains the bowl on this 3 second cycle a well. (While in drain mode.) Drain pump resistance is 31 ohms, water solenoid resistance is 60 ohms, motor windings are 34 ohms. Hope someone can help. After this I will stick to industrial stuff. Thanks,

Without the diagnostics, this is a bit tricky……
Jolting fill – lid switch, Out of Balance switch, rotor position sensor on the motor are all possible causes.
Interupted drain/spin – pump overheating/ blocked, rotor position sensor (again).
Run the diagnostics and see what comes up.

I pulled motor apart and checked windings and position sensor. Back to original problem. It only cuts out when the pump is running. Pumps water hard so no blockage. Rechecked pump windings and at 27 ohms is a bit low. Pump maybe cutting out on an overload. Will replace it when wholesaler opens on monday. I know how to get into diagnostic mode but not what to press once there to find an error to give you more information. I get the 2 beeps but then go where?
Thanks again,

After the beep, toggle the Spin buttons until Hold and Slow Spin are lit. The wash board lights will now display any error code. Read from right to left in binary code (1+2+4+8 etc). Lit is a number, off is a zero.

Pump. It is the pump…….. The straightforward impedence test is not enough – how the pump runs is fairly crucial as well. It is well worth dropping the pump and checking that there is nothing there restricting or blocking it, especially stuff collecting under the impellor or the like.
Otherwise, replacement is only option.

Got new pump installed. Goes great. You were right on the money about the pump. It also was not blocked. Have ordered repair and diagnostic codes manual from F&P for future use. Thanks Penguin45.
