ParticipantI have searched the forums and read the user manual but i am still at a bit of loss as to where to start with this problem so any advice would be much appreciated.
MODEL : SMEG DWI612C
SERIEL NO: 196003028.00 (i think)
AGE: 18 MONTHS OLD
FAULT CODE: Like E1 but LED 1 ( rinse) is lit constant and LED 5 ( big pan) is flashing which is the opposite way round to the fault code in the book?I am going to pull this out and have a look myself, but i would like some advice on where to start if anybody can help, also i would like to try a reset before pulling it apart if anybody knows how to do this?
Basically what happend is my wife thought “oh an on/off switch i never use that” and pressed it, she finished loading the machine but when she came to turn it on it was locked up with this code it doesn’t do anything.
I disconnected/reconnected the power which did not help.I am reasonably capable and able to do electrical testing and usually fix my own appliences so reasonably complicated testing won’t phase me.
As i say any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks in advace,

Somehow, she’s managed to get it into test mode…….
Use the search facility for Smeg+reset , that should sort it.

More searching has revealed the Reset procedure which appears to have worked, very pleased this forum is fantastic 😀
Just need to fix the washing machine now 🙁
for future reference I used this reset procedure
Open door
Switch on with door on/off button
Within 3 secs (before display comes on) press programme button 4 times
Lights 1 & 5 should now be flashing (if not repeat until you have this situation)
Press programme button once more and you should be left with only the 5th light flashing.
Switch off (don’t close door)
Leave for a few seconds then switch back on.
Select programme and close door
Machine should now work (stick it on a rinse – if it gets past the main fill you should be OK)
