    Hope someone can help me..
My dishwasher stops in mid cycle at 2 points, with a slight buzzing sound. When I nudge the control knob round a click, it starts washing again, and eventually completes the cycle, and seems to ave washed the dishes ok. I’ve noticed that when I open the machine at one of the “hang” points, there doesnt seem to be much water in the tub at all (the element is certainly not covered) but if I nudge it on, and then open it, there seems to be more water in the tub. Is this normal? The heater certainly works.
I’ve tried replacing the 3 thermostats that I could find; 2 of the “through-grommet” types which both clamp to the heater element, identical 85 degree ones 02 9954, and also the little one that screws onto the bottom of the tub, 66 degrees 06 9132. Doesnt seem to have made any difference.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,

Since you’ve done so much I’d suggest that you seek more professional help as there’s no clear answer without physically seeing the machine and seeing what it’s doing (or not) when. Other than that it’s a case of sitting with a meter and working out what’s going on, which without any technical info is, at best, difficult.

    Hi K,

Thanks for your prompt reply; calling in the pros could be the best bet, if I could only find someone who’s interested! Just tried the “find a service engineer” on the site, and apparently none in my area (BN7, Lewes, Sussex). I haven’t tried recently, but when we had problems with our washing machine a couple of years ago I must have made 10 or so phone calls, all to no avail. Eventually found someone, but they’re now no longer trading.
Anyway, I’d like to persevere a bit longer if possible, before going throough the lengthy grief of finding someone competent and willing to fix it. I’m loathe to throw away a machine that doesnt leak, and works nearly perfectly. I work with heating control systems for a living, so I’m fairly competent with a meter and used to the hazards that water and mains electrics throw up!
The problem I’m having is knowing what the wash cycle is supposed to be doing at any particular point. I guess that Bosch must produce a flowchart which tells you the seqeunce of events , is there such a document, and if so, who has access to it? I’ve bought a couple of generic manuals including the Haynes one, but frankly its pretty useless on this topic.
