    Hi,
Whilst cleaning the Detergent / Fabric softener drawer and compartment it sits in (the one with water jets at the top) recently, I accidently dropped a plastic picnic knife (about 6″s long) down the hose into the drum (where the water / fabric softener drains)
All efforts to retrieve it without taking the machine apart failed – I just wondered if I should simply leave it there as it’s gonna be awkward to pull my machine out (Bosch WFP series I think) – I wouldn’t know how to dismantle it anyway.
I guess it’s just standing in an upright position at the bottom of the hose and not doing any harm?
Last thing I need is for it to block the hose and water flood back out of the dispenser drawer all over my new floor.

Easy way of getting it out?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I shouldn’t think it will cause much, if any damamge I did exactyl the same thing with my hoover washer dryer last year with a toothbrush and no damage done.

Although there is a bra wire stuck between drums that I cannot retrieve you cant hear it catching in wash but when in spin you can hear it catching on the drum, and i think that is what is causing the washer to rip clothes and pull threads out of towels!

Any tips on how to get the wire out??

    Thanks Dan

    Pete,

The only way is to get the lid off and dismantle the soap drawer most likely as there’s a U-bend in that hose normally.

Dan, if you can’t see it with the heater removed, or whatever else you can get at, then it’s a stripdown job to retrieve it and I wouldn’t recommend DIY’ing it. Saying that most repairers have a knack for retrieving such things without stripping it down as that’s the last resort. 😉

    K.
